WESTON CORBET and WESTON PATRICK, two parishes
Old English 'west farm'. The Westons are west of South Warnborough, but it may be better to think of them in relation to Hoddington, also in Bermondspit hundred, from which they are south-west, or Upton Grey, which lies between the Westons and Hoddington. The feudal elements come from the family of 'Corbet'='crookback', who held one manor in 1203, and from Paterik de Chaworces, who held the other in 1257. These are both to be distinguished from WESTON COLLEY in Micheldever.
